Job Title: Cleaner

Organization: Somali Women and Child Care Association (SWCCA)

Location: Baidoa, Somalia

Duration: 6-month contract, with possibility of extension

About SWCCA: The Somali Women and Child Care Association (SWCCA) is dedicated to improving the lives of women and children in Baidoa through various community development initiatives, focusing on health, education, and empowerment.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the cleanliness of SWCCA facilities, including offices, classrooms, and common areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchen areas.
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are stocked and in good working condition.
  • Dispose of waste in accordance with SWCCA’s waste management policies.
  • Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for events and meetings as needed.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment for all staff and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a cleaner or janitor preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform cleaning tasks.
  • Good communication skills in Somali; basic English skills preferred.
  • Commitment to SWCCA’s mission and values.
