Job Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for implementing M&E systems, conducting data collection and analysis, and ensuring project effectiveness and impact in Baidoa , Galkacyo and Mogadishu. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
M&E System Development:
- Design and implement M&E frameworks and systems for project monitoring and reporting.
- Develop indicators, data collection tools, and methodologies to measure project outcomes.
- Ensure M&E activities align with project goals, donor requirements, and organizational standards.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Coordinate data collection efforts, including conducting surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to assess project progress and impact.
- Prepare regular M&E reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Capacity Building:
- Train project staff and partners on M&E methodologies, data collection techniques, and reporting standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to ensure quality and consistency in data collection and analysis.
Project Evaluation:
- Assist in conducting project evaluations, assessments, and reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices.
- Support in the dissemination of evaluation findings and recommendations to inform decision-making.
Learning and Adaptation:
- Facilitate learning sessions and reflection workshops to promote adaptive management and continuous improvement.
- Document success stories, case studies, and testimonials that highlight project achievements and impact.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with project teams, donors, government officials, and community stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and support for M&E activities.
- Represent SWCCA in M&E-related meetings, workshops, and forums.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in M&E roles, preferably in humanitarian or development projects.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing M&E frameworks and systems.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting using relevant software/tools.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and M&E software/tools.
