Job Summary:
The Project Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of projects in Baidoa, ensuring timely delivery of activities, compliance with donor requirements, and effective communication with stakeholders. This role requires strong organizational skills, community engagement abilities, and a commitment to promoting SWCCA’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Implementation and Support:
- Assist in the planning and execution of project activities according to project plans and timelines.
- Coordinate logistics, procurements, and administrative tasks to support project implementation.
- Facilitate community participation and ensure regular communication with project beneficiaries.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Participate in monitoring project activities, collecting data, and documenting progress.
- Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to donor reports as required.
- Assist in conducting assessments, surveys, and evaluations to measure project outcomes.
Capacity Building and Training:
- Organize and conduct training sessions for project beneficiaries and community members on relevant project topics.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Promote a culture of learning and adaptation to improve project effectiveness.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations to strengthen collaboration.
- Represent SWCCA in meetings, workshops, and forums related to project activities.
- Facilitate effective communication and information sharing among project stakeholders.
Administrative and Financial Support:
- Assist in budget monitoring and financial management, ensuring expenses align with project budgets.
- Maintain accurate records of project expenditures and financial transactions.
- Support in procurement processes and ensure compliance with SWCCA’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project implementation, preferably within a humanitarian or development organization.
- Experience in community engagement, capacity building, and training activities.
- Familiarity with project cycle management and donor reporting requirements.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
- Fluency in English and Somali (written and spoken) is required.
