Job Summary:
The Security Guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of SWCCA premises, staff, and assets in Baidoa. This role requires vigilance, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Monitoring and Surveillance:

  • Monitor alarms, and other security systems to detect and prevent unauthorized access or incidents.
  • Conduct regular patrols of SWCCA premises, including offices, compounds, and residential areas.

Access Control:

  • Control access to SWCCA facilities by monitoring entrances, verifying identification, and issuing visitor badges as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and procedures for staff, visitors, and vehicles entering and leaving the premises.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, following established protocols.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, security agencies, and SWCCA management during critical incidents.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate logs of security incidents, patrols, and activities.
  • Prepare daily reports on security activities, including incidents, observations, and actions taken.
  • Submit incident reports and recommendations for improving security measures to the Security Supervisor.

Safety and Risk Management:

  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend security enhancements to mitigate risks to SWCCA personnel and property.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and emergency preparedness plans.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other security guards and staff to maintain a cohesive security team.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior security personnel as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in security management or related fields is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a security guard, preferably in a humanitarian or development organization or similar environment.
  • Proven experience in security operations, surveillance, and emergency response.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff and visitors.
  • Vigilance and attention to detail in monitoring security systems and detecting potential threats.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond decisively during emergencies or stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures is desirable.
