SWCCA aims to address the root causes of GBV, promote gender equality, and empower women and girls in Somalia.

Somali Women and Child Care Association aims to address the issue of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Somalia by promoting awareness and education at the community level. This involves conducting workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to educate the public about the causes and consequences of GBV.

Additionally, SWCCA provides comprehensive GBV prevention and response services. These services include psychosocial support (PSS) for survivors, as well as medical support for those who have experienced GBV. In order to ensure that survivors receive the appropriate care and support, SWCCA facilitates referral pathways.

This involves connecting survivors to legal services, shelter, healthcare facilities, and other support networks. By working closely with partner organizations and service providers, SWCCA ensures that survivors have access to a comprehensive range of services.
Furthermore, SWCCA acknowledges the importance of maintaining confidentiality for survivors of GBV. SWCCA also recognizes the importance of maintaining the dignity and privacy of survivors.

To meet the immediate needs of survivors, SWCCA provides dignity kits. These kits contain essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, and other necessities to help survivors maintain their dignity and well-being.

Through its comprehensive GBV prevention and response services, SWCCA strives to create a society free from gender-based violence in Somalia. SWCCA’s work plays a vital role in empowering women and girls, promoting gender equality, and ensuring that survivors of GBV receive the support they need to heal and rebuild their lives.
