On behalf of the Somali Women and Child Care Association SWCCA, we are honored to join the global community in observing World Humanitarian Day 2023. This day provides us with an opportunity to amplify our commitment to promoting the welfare of women and children in Somalia and around the world.

In Somalia, women and children continue to bear the brunt of numerous challenges, including poverty, displacement, inequality, and lack of access to basic necessities such as healthcare, education, and clean water. As an organization dedicated to their well-being, we recognize the urgent need to address these issues and create a brighter future for the most vulnerable members of our society.

On this World Humanitarian Day, we want to emphasize the importance of empowering Somali women and ensuring they have equal opportunities to lead, participate, and contribute to their communities. By providing access to education, training, and economic opportunities, we can enable women to break free from the cycle of poverty and become agents of positive change.

Furthermore, we acknowledge the critical role played by children in shaping the future of our nation. They are not only our hope but also our responsibility. We must invest in their education, protection, and overall well-being to ensure they grow up in an environment that nurtures their potential and allows them to thrive.

However, we cannot achieve these goals alone. We call upon individuals, governments, civil society organizations, and the international community to join forces with us in our endeavors. Together, we can create a more inclusive, equitable, and compassionate society where women and children are protected, supported, and empowered.

Let us use this World Humanitarian Day to reflect on the challenges faced by Somali women and children, but also to celebrate their resilience, strength, and capacity for greatness. Together, we have the power to make a tangible difference in their lives and contribute towards building a brighter future for all.

On World Humanitarian Day 2023, let us recommit ourselves to the cause of empowering women and ensuring the well-being of children. Together, we can build a more compassionate and inclusive Somalia, where every woman and child has access to the opportunities they deserve.
