As an organization deeply committed to the welfare and rights of women and children in Somalia, we recognize the urgent need to eradicate this harmful practice that violates the rights and undermines the health, dignity, and security of women and girls.

It reflects deep-rooted inequality between the sexes and constitutes an extreme form of violence against women and girls.
