SWCCA operates Women and Girls Safe Space WGSS
Somali Women and Child Care Association (SWCCA) operates Women and Girls Safe Space (WGSS) services in Mogadishu particularly Boqolsoon IDP Camp which is located Garasbaley, WGSS services permit for Women and Girls affected by GBV issues and any vulnerable women and girls to attend freely with the open sessions for awareness raising, information sessions and Psychosocial support services.
The WGSS strengthen psychosocial support (PSS) and empowerment opportunities through group activities. Including PSS activities that consists of basic life skills development sessions that allow women and girls to come together and socialize, participate in community events and create opportunities to develop their skills, make decisions for themselves and their families.
Other activities included invitation of guest speakers like a nutritionist to talk about nutrition for children and pregnant women, a WASH specialist to talk about handwashing and proper disposal and menstrual hygiene talk by health expert and doctors to talk about ANC, PNC, maternal health, COVID-19 messages etc.
