Yesterday, EISA together with SWCCA conducted a one-day forum Pushing for the observation of the 30% women quota in the upcoming 2020/2021 Somalia Elections, the event was attended by high-level guest from government officials, MoWHRD, women political aspirants, clean elders, representative of ministry of women in federal level, representative of both electoral commission in federal level FIET, and Banadir state level SIET and Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee, Women’s group, Marginalized group, Disable candidate women and status in Mogadishu.

The forum is part of advocacy and sensitization initiative to enhance inclusive government institutions by introducing women quotas at multiple levels of government who have played a vital role in bringing peace and prosperity in their communities that deserves the right to have a representative voice in parliament and ensuing 30% Women’s Quota observed.
